Welcome to Labtech and our Electron Microscopy division
Since 1993 Sussex-based Labtech has been supplying research laboratories across the UK and Ireland and has built a reputation for high levels of customer service and support.
As an integral part of Labtech the electron microscopy division strives to provide an efficient and reliable service to electron microscopists by offering a wide range of innovative instruments, consumables and accessories from well-known and developing brands at competitive pricing.
We are there to help and our technical staff, who have many years’ experience working in EM labs and in the microscopy and scientific industries, can give expert advice on the best solutions for your application. We regularly attend microscopy events in Life and Materials Sciences
Meet the EM team...
Steve Cham (Business Development Manager)
After studying for a BSc in biological sciences Steve started his career in light and electron microscopy at Rothamsted Research Centre in Harpenden, Hertfordshire. He then worked as product manager responsible for EM and cryo preparation products at Leica Microsystems before taking on management for EM preparation and histology sales for northern Europe. Following a period at Agar Scientific and EM Resolutions he joined Labtech to set up the electron microscopy division. Steve is a member of the organising committee of the Society for Electron Microscope Technology (SEMT).
Mike Wombwell (Sales and Marketing Manager)
Mike learned his electron microscopy and light microscopy at the University of Cambridge in what is now the Cambridge Advanced Imaging Centre. Over the past 35 years he has held technical sales, sales management and marketing roles at Polaron/Bio-rad, Thermo VG, Pyser-SGI and Quorum Technologies.
Mike serves on the Royal Microscopical Society Advisory Board and is on the organising committee of the Cryo Microscopy Group.
Michelle Lickrish (Field Sales)
Michelle completed her PhD in molecular and cell biology at the university of Dundee then went onto do a PostDoc at the University of Liverpool. Over the past 15 years she has held technical sales roles at Helena Biosciences, Scientific Laboratory Supplies and Labtech.
Outside of work Michelle enjoys sports, watching films and keeping up with the latest scientific developments.
