High precision anti-magnetic tweezers
EM-Tec high precision anti-magnetic tweezers are Swiss-made, precision engineered, high quality tweezers with smooth edges and a superior matt finish to reduce glare. They are particularly suited to precision handing for electron microscopy (TEM and SEM) preparation and can also be used in wide ranging applications that include: specimen handling and preparation, sorting, precision manufacturing, electronic assembly, watch making, general laboratory, biological and medical applications.
Manufactured from a special, low carbon, high strength stainless steel these tweezers have good corrosion resistance to salts, low concentrate acids, solvents, oils and greases. They also have good wear resistance against most materials. Although an anti-magnetic alloy is used for these high precision tweezers, it is not recommended to use them in strong magnetic fields or for handling magnets. We would recommend the use of titanium or plastic tweezers in such cases.

The material used for manufacturing the EM-Tec high precision anti-magnetic tweezers is a selected grade of low carbon AISI 316L stainless steel.
It is used for the following types of EM-Tec tweezers:

General remarks:
- AISI 316L is a low carbon austenitic stainless steel (DIN 1.4435, X2CrNiMo 18-14-3)
- Contains 17 – 19 wt% chromium and contains significant amounts of nickel and molybdenum as additional alloy components
- Non-magnetisable
- Cannot be hardened by heat treatment
- Can be work-hardened, annealing is recommended for stress relief
- Good corrosion resistance to most chemicals, salts and acids
- Generally used where corrosion resistance and toughness are primary requirements
- Typical applications include for electron microscopy, electronic industry, fine mechanics, laboratory and medical in moderately aggressive chemical requirements
